To convert dates to text or a string use the following steps.

How to convert excel date to text

  1. Make sure your date cell is formatted as “Date”
  2. Use the following syntax to convert your date to text.

=Text(Date Cell, “Format selected”)

e.g.

=Text(A1, “MMMM DD YYYY”)
